Participation Regulations

Official terms and conditions for all Shkodra Mini Marathon 2026 participants.

Article 1 – General Provisions

These regulations apply to all participants in the Shkodra Mini Marathon 2026 activity.

The activity will take place on 4 October 2026 in the city of Shkodër, starting and finishing at the Square in front of Shkodër Municipality, on "13 Dhjetori" street.

Shkodra Mini Marathon 2026 is held in the following categories:

  • 2.5 km — category 10–15 years;
  • 2.5 km — category 16–18 years;
  • 5 km — category 18+;
  • 10 km — category 18+.

By registering for the activity, each participant accepts the terms of these regulations and the organizer's instructions.

The purpose of the activity is to promote physical activity, healthy living, youth and community involvement in sport, and to promote the city of Shkodër as a destination for sporting activities.

Article 2 – Organizer and Supporters

The activity is organized by Vllaznia Atletike.

Main supporters of the activity are:

  • Shkodër Municipality;
  • Albanian Athletics Federation / FSHA.

The organizer is responsible for: determining and managing the route; organizing the start and finish areas; participant registration; distribution of race numbers and equipment; coordinating staff, volunteers, and support structures; managing safety along the route; timing; publishing results; announcing winners and distributing prizes.

Article 3 – Activity Schedule

The activity will take place according to the following schedule:

  • 08:00 – 09:00 — Participant registration and distribution of race numbers/equipment.
  • 09:00 – 09:15 — Official opening, welcome from organizers, and warm-up.
  • 09:30 — 2.5 km race — categories 10–15 years and 16–18 years.
  • 10:00 — 5 km race — category 18+.
  • 11:00 — 10 km race — category 18+.
  • 12:15 — Announcement of winners and prize ceremony.

The organizer reserves the right to change schedules in case of organizational, technical, safety needs, or due to weather conditions.

Article 4 – Race Categories

2.5 km — Category 10–15 years

Children and youth aged 10 to 15 may participate in this category.

The race bib for this category will be Green.

2.5 km — Category 16–18 years

Youth aged 16 to 18 may participate in this category.

The race bib for this category will be Blue.

5 km — Category 18+

Persons aged 18 and over may participate in this category.

The race bib for this category will be Purple.

10 km — Category 18+

Persons aged 18 and over may participate in this category.

The race bib for this category will be Orange.

Each participant may register for only one race category.

The organizer reserves the right to refuse or cancel registrations that do not meet the criteria of the relevant category.

Article 5 – Registration

Registration for Shkodra Mini Marathon 2026 is done online on the official website: shkodramarathon.com

Each participant must provide accurate data during registration, including:

  • first and last name;
  • date of birth;
  • race category;
  • contact number;
  • email address, if required;
  • any other information necessary for organizing the activity.

Registration is considered valid only after completing the online procedure and paying the applicable fee, where applicable.

For minor participants, registration must be completed by a parent/legal guardian or under their supervision. Acceptance of these regulations during registration is considered approval for the minor's participation.

The participant is responsible for the accuracy of data provided during registration. Registrations with inaccurate, incomplete, or false data may be cancelled by the organizer.

Article 6 – Registration Fees

Registration fees are as follows:

  • 10 km — 2,000 ALL;
  • 5 km — 1,500 ALL;
  • 2.5 km / 10–15 years — free;
  • 2.5 km / 16–18 years — free.

The registration fee, where applicable, covers participation in the activity and equipment with the relevant race number/equipment, according to category.

In case of non-attendance on activity day, the registration fee is not refunded, except when the organizer decides otherwise.

In case of postponement due to organizational, safety, weather, or force majeure reasons, registration remains valid for the new date set by the organizer.

Article 7 – Distribution of Race Numbers and Equipment

Distribution of race numbers and equipment will take place on 4 October 2026, from 08:00 to 09:00, at the start area near the Square in front of Shkodër Municipality, on "13 Dhjetori" street.

Each participant will be equipped with a race number according to their registered category.

Race bib colors are:

  • Green — 2.5 km, category 10–15 years;
  • Blue — 2.5 km, category 16–18 years;
  • Purple — 5 km, category 18+;
  • Orange — 10 km, category 18+.

The race number is unique and may not be transferred to another person.

The participant must wear the race number visibly on the body throughout the race, from start to finish.

Running without a bib, with another participant's bib, or in a different category than registered results in non-recording of results and/or disqualification.

Article 8 – Timing

All participants will have electronic timing.

For 5 km and 10 km categories, timing will be done with an electronic chip system.

For 2.5 km categories, timing will be done electronically, according to the system determined by the organizer.

Participants are responsible for wearing the number and corresponding timing equipment according to organizer instructions.

If a participant does not wear the number or timing equipment as instructed, their result may not be recorded.

Official results are published after verification by the organizer and staff responsible for timing.

Article 9 – Race Route

The race start and finish will take place at the Square in front of Shkodër Municipality, on "13 Dhjetori" street.

The race route will follow this trajectory:

  • Start from the Square in front of Shkodër Municipality;
  • Continue along "13 Dhjetori" street;
  • Pass onto "Zogu I" Boulevard to the roundabout;
  • Continue on "Mehmet Pashë Plaku" Boulevard;
  • Turn and join the left side of "Gjuhadol" street;
  • Continue on "Qemal Draçini" street;
  • Pass near the roundabout connecting "Zogu I" Boulevard;
  • Return towards the city center;
  • Finish at the Square in front of Shkodër Municipality, "13 Dhjetori" street.

Participants must follow only the official route determined by the organizer.

Leaving the route, cutting the course, or failing to respect control points may result in disqualification.

The organizer reserves the right to change parts of the route when necessary, for safety, organizational reasons, or per public authority requirements.

Article 10 – Traffic Restrictions and Road Safety

To ensure participant safety and smooth running of the activity, roads included in the route will be restricted or closed to vehicle traffic for a period of 90 to 120 minutes, according to the operational plan and coordination with responsible structures.

Participants must respect:

  • signage placed along the route;
  • instructions from organizational staff;
  • instructions from Municipal Police, State Police, or other responsible structures;
  • guidance from volunteers and support personnel.

Although there is no official time limit for finishing the race, participants must follow organizer instructions if parts of the road reopen to public traffic.

Article 11 – Participation and Conduct During the Race

Participation in the race is permitted on foot only, according to the category in which the participant is registered.

Use of assistive devices or means of transport during the race is not permitted, including:

  • bicycles;
  • roller skates;
  • scooters;
  • hoverboards;
  • motorized vehicles;
  • other devices that may compromise safety or fair competition.

Accompanying participants with unauthorized bicycles, vehicles, or animals is not permitted.

Not permitted: obstructing other participants; unsportsmanlike behavior; damaging signage; intentional deviation from the route; failure to follow staff instructions; using a bib belonging to another person.

Violation of these rules may result in disqualification.

Article 12 – Role of Race Officials and Staff

Race officials and authorized staff have an advisory, supervisory, and decision-making role during the activity.

They are responsible for:

  • monitoring compliance with the regulations;
  • guiding participants along the route;
  • identifying violations;
  • verifying results;
  • deciding on penalties or disqualifications.

Decisions by race officials and authorized staff are binding on participants.

Article 13 – Medical Assistance

Medical support will be provided during the activity according to the event organizational plan.

Medical personnel may stop participation or continuation of the race for any participant showing signs of severe fatigue, injury, dehydration, or any other condition that may endanger health.

The participant is responsible for assessing their health condition before registration and participation.

For minor participants, responsibility for health condition and fitness to participate lies with the parent or legal guardian.

Article 14 – Aid Stations

Aid stations with water and support for participants may be placed along the route, according to the event organizational plan.

The location of aid stations will be communicated by the organizer before or on race day.

Participants must use only stations designated by the organizer and must not dispose of waste outside permitted areas.

Article 15 – Weather Conditions and Force Majeure

The activity may take place under various weather conditions, as long as the safety of participants and the public is not compromised.

The organizer reserves the right to postpone, interrupt, or cancel the activity in case of:

  • severe weather;
  • risk to public safety;
  • natural disasters;
  • health emergencies;
  • decisions by public authorities;
  • any other force majeure circumstance.

In case of changes to the date, schedule, or venue, participants will be notified through the activity's official communication channels.

Article 16 – Limitation of Liability

Participation in the race is at personal responsibility.

Each participant declares that they are in suitable physical and health condition to participate in the category for which they are registered.

The organizer is not liable for:

  • injuries resulting from the participant's health condition;
  • injuries resulting from failure to follow staff instructions;
  • loss or damage to personal belongings;
  • actions of third parties beyond the organizer's control.

For minor participants, acceptance of the regulations during registration is considered approval by the parent or legal guardian for participation.

Article 17 – Personal Data

Participants' personal data is collected and processed only for activity organizational purposes, including:

  • registration;
  • participant identification;
  • bib number assignment;
  • category management;
  • timing and publication of results;
  • communications related to the activity.

The organizer must process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Article 18 – Photos, Video, and Public Communication

During the activity, photos, videos, audio recordings, and interviews may be produced for documentation, information, and promotion of Shkodra Mini Marathon 2026.

By participating in the activity, the participant agrees that their image may be used by the organizer and activity supporters in promotional materials, social media, official websites, audiovisual media, or other information materials, without claim to financial compensation.

For minor participants, acceptance of these regulations during registration is also considered approval for use of their image for documentation and promotion of the activity.

Article 19 – Medals, Prizes, and Results

Participants who finish the race according to the regulations may receive a participation medal, as determined by the organizer.

Prizes will be awarded for each category determined by the organizer, including:

  • 2.5 km — category 10–15 years;
  • 2.5 km — category 16–18 years;
  • 5 km — category 18+;
  • 10 km — category 18+.

Official results are published after verification by officials or staff responsible for timing.

The organizer reserves the right to correct results in case of technical errors, confirmed violations, or subsequent verification.

Article 20 – Disqualification

A participant may be disqualified if they:

  • participate with inaccurate data;
  • race in a category for which they do not meet the criteria;
  • use another participant's bib number;
  • do not visibly wear their bib number;
  • cut the route;
  • leave the official route;
  • use unauthorized assistive devices;
  • obstruct or endanger other participants;
  • do not follow event staff instructions;
  • engage in unsportsmanlike or inappropriate behavior.

The decision on disqualification is made by race officials or authorized staff.

Article 21 – Changes to the Regulations

The organizer reserves the right to update these regulations in case of organizational, technical, safety changes, or requirements from public authorities.

Any significant change will be communicated through the activity's official channels.

Register
